Mr. Wright has been the CEO of Lightstream since inception in November 2009 and assumed the president role in 2011. Previously, Mr. Wright was the President and CEO of Petrobank Resources; the President and Chief Executive Officer of Pacalta Resources; Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Morgan Hydrocarbons; and Vice President Production of Morgan Hydrocarbons. Mr. Wright began his full time career in the oil industry after he graduated from the University of Alberta in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. Mr. Wright is a Professional Engineer and also a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
Mr. Brown is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience in the capital markets. He has been an independent businessman since January 2006. Mr. Brown was a Senior Managing Director at Raymond James Ltd. (and predecessor companies) from 1995 to 2005 and previously was Executive Vice President at the Alberta Stock Exchange. Mr. Brown serves on the boards of several other public companies. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1983, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Mr. Hislop is a Chartered Accountant and retired businessman with over 30 years experience in all aspects of financing and managing private and listed oil and gas companies, partnerships and trusts. He is founder and former CEO of APF Energy Trust (“APF”), which was sold to StarPoint Energy Trust for approximately one billion dollars in June 2005. Prior to founding APF, he was the President and CEO of Lakewood Energy Inc., a TSX listed oil and gas company, which was created as a result of the merger of 10 limited partnership drilling funds he created beginning in 1986. He also serves on the board of Cumberland Oil & Gas Ltd.
Mr. McKinnon has practiced as a corporate commercial and securities lawyer for over 28 years, and has held the position of Vice President Legal and General Counsel of Critical Mass Inc. since March 2000. Mr. McKinnon also holds other volunteer Board positions with the University of Calgary and Alberta Innovate Technology Futures. Mr. McKinnon obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary majoring in accounting in 1980, his LLB from Queen's University in 1983 and was admitted to the Alberta Law Society in 1984, the Law Society of England and Wales in 1994. He was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 2012 and holds an ICD.D designation, as a certified corporate director.
Mr. Ruttan is President and Chief Executive Officer of Alvopetro. He played key roles in the Petrobank Group of Companies, including Vice President Finance, Director of Corporate Finance and Investor Relations, Director of Corporate Finance and Manager of Corporate Finance. Prior to joining the Petrobank Group of Companies, Mr. Ruttan served as Vice President of Caribou Capital Corp.; Manager Financial Reporting of Pacalta Resources Ltd.; and articled with KPMG from September 1994 to May 1997. Mr. Ruttan obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accounting from the University of Calgary in 1994 and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1997.
W. Brett Wilson has more than 25 years of experience in investment banking with extensive knowledge of Canada’s resource sectors. He co-founded FirstEnergy Capital Corp. in 1993, a leading Canadian brokerage firm that provides investment-banking services to Canada’s energy-based industries. Mr. Wilson is currently Chairman of Prairie Merchant Corporation, his private merchant bank focused on business opportunities in the energy, agriculture, real estate, sports, and entertainment industries. Mr. Wilson was a panelist on the award winning CBC reality show Dragons’ Den and was host of Global/Slice TV’s show Risky Business. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan (1979), a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Calgary (1985), and an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Royal Roads University (2010). He was appointed to The Order of Canada in 2011.
